Thermal imaging in the FLIR ONE Pro is handled by the 160 x 120 resolution FLIR Lepton detector, with a total of 19,200 pixels. Then FLIR adds a little magic with what they call VividIR. Utilizing the processing power of the phone or tablet, the Pro uses nine distinct steps, including super-resolution technology, to dramatically improve the thermal image in real time. The detector has a thermal sensitivity of 0.07 °C, and can image and measure temperatures from -20 to 400 °C (-4 to 752 °F). The FLIR ONE Pro uses a fixed focus, wide-angle 55° lens, yielding fast imaging of large areas such as buildings or exterior spaces. The wide-angle lens also works out well for relatively close imaging of items, including circuit boards and electrical panels.
Dual Cameras
Though thin as most mobile devices, the FLIR ONE Pro packs in two distinct cameras: one to capture infrared radiation, and another to capture visible light. Together these help identify hot or cold areas of concern, along with recording how the area appeared to the human eye. The two cameras also allow the FLIR ONE Pro to perform the patented MSX image enhancement. With MSX, FLIR uses the visible camera to locate edges of objects and writing, then embosses this data into the thermal image in real time. This results in a thermal image that looks much more like the world as we see it, yet still includes all thermal data.
Image Capture
The FLIR ONE Pro can record video, still images, time-lapse images, and panoramic images. These can be saved to the gallery inside the FLIR ONE app, or directly to the camera roll of your phone or tablet. Captured media are stored in common formats and can easily be shared by email and text, or uploaded to any social media site. Still images are captured as radiometric jpg files, complete with temperature data for every pixel. This gives you many options for analysis and reporting functionality, from the free FLIR Tools desktop software, to the updated FLIR ONE app. When used with the FLIR ONE Pro, the app now includes the ability to add multiple spot meters, along with one touch report generation capabilities.
Flexibility
A great design innovation of the third generation FLIR ONE is the adjustable connector. A thumbscrew allows the attachment plug to move in or out as needed to perfectly fit almost any device, with or without a case. The connector will retain this setting, with no need for adjustment on future uses of the same device. The latest FLIR ONE will also allow the camera to be switched from front facing to rear facing in both iOS (Lightning), Android (USB-C) and Android (MICRO-USB) configurations. The FLIR ONE Pro gives users greater control over imaging conditions: emissivity can be selected from among presets or user specified. Image level and span can also be user set on the Pro version, eliminating temperatures not of concern, and allowing better color palette distribution across the image area. The built-in rechargeable battery is good for one hour of working time, and will recharge in around 40 minutes. The FLIR ONE Pro is built tough, and drop rated to 6 feet (1.8m).
Note: The phone is not included.

Android Device Compatibility
To be compatible with FLIR ONE Pro, the mobile Android device must have either a USB-C or a Micro-USB connector.
The Micro-USB version of the Flir One Pro is for use with older Android Smartphones and devices.
Newer Smartphones generally use the reversible USB-C connector and require this version of the Flir One Pro.
You need to determine this to order the correct Flir One Pro.
