The Megger MIT430/2 adds additional features required for engineers working on more demanding applications. Functions such as PI and DAR, result storage, capacitance measurement and a greater range of test voltages increase the suitability for many applications.

With it’s exceptionally wide range of applications from electrical installations, cable testing, motor testing, automotive, ESD, panel building, avionics, maintenance and anyone with unique test voltage requirements. The features of the MIT400 mk2 series also make it ideal for maintenance technicians and engineers.

Insulation testing has been enhanced with feedback controlled test voltages to limit over-voltage to 2%, rather than the industry standard 10-20%

The Megger MIT430-2 insulation tester features a variable range to allow any intermediate voltage from 10 V to 1000 V in 1 V steps, when testing specific test voltages that do not appear in the standard ranges are required.

The Megger MIT430/2 Insulation Tester offers a specification suitable for a wide range of applications from electrical installations, cable testing and motor testing to automotive/avionics checks, production line testing and military communications testing to name a few.

The insulation range provides measurements of up to 200GΩ, with standard output voltages available to select from of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000V. More specific, variable test voltages can be programmed by the user, presenting options between 10V and 1000V accurate to -0% +2%. Moreover, the instrument can be used to carry out polarisation index (PI) and dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) diagnostic tests for more specialist diagnostic tests.

Featuring a low resistance range of 999kΩ with an auto-null allowing a resistance of up to 10Ω to be zeroed prior to testing; the MIT 430/2 can be used to measure smaller loads. In addition, the Megger MIT 430/2 insulation tester features an automatic bi-directional test current that will reverse polarity of the test without the user having to switch test leads. The MIT 430/2 can also measure capacitance (electrical charge) between 0.1 nF and 10 μF.

All models within the MIT4XX/2 range offer a live circuit detection, that prevents measurements from being conducted on live circuits, protecting the instrument and user from potential danger.

The Megger MIT430/2 features an internal memory capable of storing up to 1000 records that can be re-called at a later. Alternatively, the results can be downloaded using Bluetooth and stored on a PC/Laptop by using the download utility supplied with the instrument.

Sealed to IP54, providing a weatherproof case to reduce the chances of water ingress, including the battery and fuse compartment. Rubber over-moulding combines a shock absorbing outer layer with excellent grip.

The Megger MIT4XX/2 models officially replace the special application insulation testers that were the MIT400, MIT410, MIT420 and MIT430. The main benefits of the new series include:

  • Over voltage limit of 2% – rather than the industry standard of 10-20%; ultimately reducing the chance of damage to circuits and components;
  • Variable test range (MIT420/2 and MIT430/2 only) – an exact and stable test voltage can be selected from between 10V and 1000V.
  • New redesigned carry case, back stand and 6 cell battery compartment with separate access to user-serviceable fuses.

Supplied with red and black silicone test leads (with probes and clips), SP5 switch probe for remote testing, owners information CD, 6 x AA batteries, download software and a hard carry case.
